Creek eighth-graders grab win over Woodlawn

in

The Cedar Creek eighth-grade football team continued its winning streak last week with a 21-14 victory over Woodlawn.
Creek’s defense once again dominated, not giving up any points in the second half.
Jace Moss led the way with a touchdown-saving tackle as well as putting up some big numbers on offense.
Tripp Marcus had nine rushes for 82 yards as well as two touchdowns while Kasten Furr had a 64-yard scoring reception.
Jacob Robbins finished off the job each time with the PAT kicks.

Chase yields two arrests

Monday pursuit leads to aggravated burglary charges for two Ruston men

On Monday, the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office embarked on a chase of two men, which lead to one suspect hiding in a bathroom cabinet.
At approximately 12:05 p.m. Monday, a resident on Louisiana Highway 818 in Ruston, contacted LPSO because his door was kicked in and he was robbed of numerous firearms. The suspects reportedly had fled from the scene.

Alexander: God told me to go home

Many lives were affected by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, luckily one local lady says she listened to the Lord when he spoke to her and left New Orleans only a few days before the storm hit.
“I was working for my church and I had worked there for 27 years, and my mom was getting sick,” Mary Alexander said. “So I wanted to come home. I told my pastor I needed to retire, and asked would he give me retirement and he said no.”
Alexander said she was hurt, but she had to leave anyway.
