Tech soccer falls to North Texas

in

DENTON, Texas — A header goal by North Texas in the 30th minute was all the Mean Green needed to edge Louisiana Tech 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Mean Green Soccer Stadium.
“It was a great effort against a Top 25-level team on the road,” head coach Kevin Sherry said. “The ladies followed the game plan and just fell short due to one defensive mishap.”
The offensive action was mute early on between the two new Conference USA schools with only two total shots taken in the first 20 minutes of play.

LPPJ listened to the people

in
Boatright, Scott NEW C.jpg

A funny thing happened during this month’s Lincoln Parish Police Jury meeting — something that’s become a rarity in the world of today’s politics.
You see, the LPPJ went against the wishes of several of its members in order to listen to the majority of its constituents.
Theoretically, the purpose of democracy is to give the members of a society the ability to choose those who will represent them through an electoral process. This process ought to ensure that those who receive the responsibility of making decisions on the behalf of the public are the best choices available.
