Jam brings people together

in
Boatright, T Scott 13.jpg

One of the best things about living in Lincoln Parish is the way people here tend to look out for one another, and that showed again Saturday as the sounds of music danced through the air of downtown Ruston.
Musicians, and fans of all things musical, packed the houses at Ponchatoula’s and Sundown Tavern Friday and Saturday for the 15th annual John Simoneaux Memorial Jam.

Hunting Heritage banquet on docket

Growing up in the South, I have always looked forward to spring and all it affords those who love to get into the outdoors to enjoy what the Good Lord has provided.
For me, that always meant that I’m spooling new line on my reels, getting them cleaned and lubricated, checking my tackle boxes taking inventory of what lures need new hooks and skirts and what needs to be replaced. Springtime means that bass, crappie and bream are headed for the shallows to spawn and wild horses couldn’t keep me away.

Tech’s White asks for big crowd

in

Dear Louisiana Tech fans,
You have definitely made the Thomas Assembly Center one of the best home courts in the country during the past three years of Dunkin’ ’Dogs Basketball.
Together, the fans and our team have recorded back-to-back 20-win seasons in large part because of your support as well as the support of our administration. We have won 30 of the last 31 games in the TAC in large part because you have given us the motivation and energy to leave everything out on the court for 40 minutes.

After the Bearcats seemingly sleep-walked through the first half, freshman guard Price Jackson provided a much-needed wake-up call for Ruston High School.
Jackson poured in 22 points Friday night to lead Ruston to a 54-30 regular-season finale win over Pineville at the RHS gym.
The Bearcats led only 18-17 at intermission, but Price came out and nailed five 3-pointers in the second half (he had six on the night) to lesd RHS to the win.
