Erin Elizabeth Brasuell, of Ruston, and Johnny Michael Phillips Jr., of Monroe, were married at 6 p.m. on Oct. 24 at Trinity United Methodist Church of Ruston. The Rev. Andy Hurst and the Rev. Brian Mercer officiated the double-ring ceremony.

Erin is the daughter of Keith and Melinda Brasuell, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Wayne and Glenda Parker, of Choudrant, and Al and Barbara Brasuell of Choudrant.

Johnny is the son of Mike and Paula Phillips, of Monroe. He is the grandson of Evelyn Procell and the late Herman Procell, and the late Alton and Louise Phillips.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a Casablanca wedding gown. The beaded Alencon lace of the slim A-line gown scalloped the neckline and flowed in bands around the skirt and semi chapel-length train. It was accented by a café silk bow and belt around the waist with a scalloped hem. Her veil was a single tier of fingertip-length silk illusion edged with beaded Alencon lace.

Meagan Craig, of Shreveport, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Christy Hipp, of Ruston, Lindsey Graham, of Ruston, Chelsea Chapman, of Marion, Jordan Dauzat, of Shreveport, Edwina Elrod, of Monroe, and Laura Herron, of Arkansas.

The bridesmaids wore short Alfred Angelo gowns of café silk with overlays of iridescent Chantilly lace. The empire bodices were fashioned with pewter-colored straps and a satin waist banding that accented the soft flowing skirts.

Cole Barthel, of Monroe, served as best man. Groomsmen were John Odom, of Monroe, John Michael Hunter, of Monroe, Ryan Failer, of Shreveport, Justin Mann, of Monroe, Nick Schramm, of Baton Rouge, Brandon Arrant, of West Monroe, Parker Brasuell, of Ruston, Cannon Brasuell, of Ruston, and Greg Manley, of Monroe.

The flower girl was Mia Schramm, of Baton Rouge, and Mary Grace Humphries, of Shreveport. The ring bearer was Steven Brasuell, of Ruston.

Guest book attendants were Kristen Wall, of Simsboro, and Lauren Tomilson, of Shreveport. Tea girls were Grayson Hipp, of Ruston, Allie Humphries, of Shreveport, Kate Mathews, of Monroe, and Eileen Murray, of Monroe.

Music was provided by soloist Luke Lusted, organist Mickey Cloud, pianist Shirley Barron and trumpet player CJ Pernici.

After the ceremony, a reception was held at Toma Lodge in Ruston. The Upper Crust catered the event. The wedding cake was provided by Sharon Franklin; flowers were arranged by Caren Craft, of Nora’s Flowers; photography and lighting was by Kevin Beasley Photography and music was provided by The Buddy Terzia Band.

A bridal shower on Sept. 19 was held at Olive Garden in Monroe. Hostesses were Sandra Alexander, Sharon Cox, Charlotte Rose and Vivian Faler.

A Mexican dinner party was held on Sept. 24 at Sundown Tavern in Ruston. Hosts were Jedd and Melanie Lewis, Drake and Ann Marie Mills, Randy and Sally Graham, Kyle and Tisdale McDonald, Jim and Sherri Pearce, Danny and Jane Tatum, Danny and Becky Crawford, Paul and Kim McCormack, Keith and Holly Richard, Jay and Susan Guillott, Petey and Kate Perot and Ben and Deborah Kincannon.

A bridal shower on Oct. 1 was held at the Ruston home of JV and Bridget Jones. Hostesses were Bridget Jones, Jennifer Black, Elizabeth Green, Elizabeth Henry, Sue Haley, Patsy Bourgeois and Carolyn Talton.

A lingerie shower on Oct. 3 was held at the Levy East House Bed and Breakfast in Natchitoches. Hostesses were Meagan Craig, Chelsea Chapman, Jordan Dauzat, Lindsey Graham, Christy Hipp, Laura Herron and Edwina Elrod.

A kitchen shower on Oct. 4 was held at the James Big House in Ruston. Hosts were Suzanne Burkhalter, Bonnie Brasuell, Marty Alsup and Candee Anderson.

A rehearsal dinner on Oct. 23 was held at Monjuni’s in Monroe. Hosts were Mike and Paula Phillips.

A bridal brunch on Oct. 24 was held at the home of Wayne and Glenda Parker. Hostesses were Glenda Parker and Judi Humphries.

After a honeymoon in Mexico, the couple will reside in West Monroe.
