Steve L. Morton

A graveside service for Steve L. Morton, age 66 of Ruston, was held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Kilpatrick’s Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

Steve was born September 24, 1954, in Homer, LA. to Alverne and J.W. Morton. He passed away at his home October 17, 2020, following a lengthy illness.

Steve was a passionate outdoorsman and especially loved to deer hunt. He was blessed to harvest a Boone and Crockett buck during his extensive hunting career.

He graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Animal Science. He worked for a period of time at Conagra and then worked for Mitcham’s Farm until his retirement.

Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Suzy and father J.W. Morton.

He is survived by his mother; Alverne Morton of the Antioch Community, his brother; Dr. Mark W. Morton (Eileen) of Muleshoe, TX, his sister Becky Howard of Ruston; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were John Lane Wilson, Joe Mitcham, Jr., Jack Cox, John Allen, Allen Sandifer and Mark Rivers. The family appreciates the care of Tender Touch Caregivers and the nurses and staff of Heart of Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
