Loy “Eddie” Haymaker, 70, of Dallas, TX, passed away January 29, 2021.

He was born in Flora, Illinois, on August 8, 1950.

Eddie Haymaker graduated from Altus High School and received a Journalism Degree from Louisiana Tech University. Eddie owned Haymaker’s Music in Ruston, LA from 1973-1995.

He worked with and influenced many young musicians during this 22 year period. He then joined the Guitar Center in Dallas as the “guitar guru” and specialized in vintage/ acoustic guitars.

Eddie Haymaker, our father, was a lover of family, food and guitars, and anyone who knew him knew that. He was kind, humble and left a huge impact on everyone he came across.

Eddie Haymaker is survived by his children Willis “Hart” Haymaker, Halley Blackwell, Hope Haymaker, Hannah Haymaker, Mercy Haymaker; Daughter in law, Kara Haymaker; Son in law, Claude “Tripp” Blackwell; Future son in laws, Gabriel Martinez and Cannon Brassuell; Grandchildren, Morgan Blackwell, Brooks Blackwell, Huck Haymaker and Piper Haymaker; Sisters, Mary Nixon and Janice Kendall; Brothers, Joseph Coil, John Coil and Jeff Coil.

Eddie Haymaker was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen B. Haymaker and father, Donald W. Haymaker.

A memorial service to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held at a later date.
