Funeral services for Joe A. Riley, 66, of Ruston, were held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Cook Baptist Church in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.The Rev. Jeff Smart officiated.

Joe was born on Sept. 6, 1952, in St. Louis, MO to Joe D. and Barbara Foy Riley, and passed away on July 11, 2019 in Ruston. He was an USDA Federal Food Inspector for many years. Joe was a member of Cook Baptist Church for over 30 years and helped teach Connect Group Class. He loved meeting new people and visiting long time friends. He enjoyed vacations and spending time with family.

Left to cherish Joe’s memory are his wife, Linda S. Riley of Ruston; son Jimmy Riley and wife Melissa of Houma, LA; daughter April Hanks and husband Warren of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren: Austin Riley, Riley Hanks, and Jayda Riley; brothers Rodger Riley and wife Brenda of IL and Gene Riley and wife Penny of MO; sister Donna Riley of IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honoring Joe are Charlie Jackson, Richard Jones, Lynn Walker, Tim Whittington, Rhea DeOliviera, Warren Hanks. Honorary pallbearers are Rodney Welch and Mance Allman.

Visitation was held from 3-4 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at Cook Baptist Church prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Gideon International; Pink Heals Inc. or Cook Baptist Church.
