Iva Anne Hanna

Iva Anne Hanna, 67, passed away on May 10 at her home in the Mineral Springs Community in Dubach.

Iva was born in Shreveport on April 23, 1957, to Charles Herbert Hanna and Francis Ann Dillard Hanna, the eldest of five children.

Iva’s independent spirit guided her through life. An “ ol’ hippie,” she loved music, art, animals, and nature. Iva loved her family above all. She could be strong-willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor.

She was always game for a good- hearted prank, whether on the giving or receiving end. She knew how to find the humor in every situation, good or bad, and could always make those around her laugh even in the most trying situations.

Iva’s interests always expressed her creative nature and were as varied as her taste in music. From playing the guitar to painting to photography and more, she delighted in exploring her creative gifts and encouraged others to express their creative gifts as well.

In her later years, Iva found contentment in living away from the city and closer to nature. She loved the tall trees and watching the deer and birds outside April 23, 1957 – May 10, 2024

her windows. She found comfort in a deep connection with her spirituality, her family, and the beauty of nature surrounding her.

Iva is survived by her husband, Brooks Williamson; two children, Aeridy Williams and David McNeill ( wife, Ichelyn); granddaughter, Amber Chaplin; grandson, Tom Awiten; sister, Virginia Hanna Belt; and brothers, Charles Hanna, Jr. and Mark Hanna. She also leaves behind a large extended family and numerous friends and acquaintances. Iva was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Herbert Hanna, Sr. and Francis Ann Dillard Hanna, her sister, Mary Elizabeth Hanna Casillas, and her infant daughter, Bonnie Hanna Emily.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Dubach, with Pastor Greg Tipton officiating.
