Dr. Kenneth D. Sanderlin, DVM, age 76, of Ruston passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 following an accident.

Dr. Sanderlin was a practicing veterinarian in Ruston for 48 years until the time of his death and will be missed by his many longtime clients. He will also be missed by all of his veterinary students that he mentored and encouraged.

Dr. Sanderlin was a well-respected bible teacher and a spiritual mentor to many young people. He will be remembered for his deep personal faith and for his lifelong love for hunting and fishing.

Dr. Sanderlin was born in Jonesboro, LA on October 4, 1944 to Ernest and Artie Sanderlin. He was a high school graduate from Jonesboro High School. He received his DVM from Auburn School of Veterinary Medicine. During the Vietnam War, Dr. Sanderlin served as captain in the Army.

Dr. Sanderlin is preceded in death by father: Ernest Sanderlin; mother: Artie Sanderlin; stepfather: Malvin Hall.

Dr. Sanderlin is survived by his wife of 45 years: Mary Frances Harms Sanderlin; daughter: Sarah Elizabeth and husband Sean Michael Moore; brother: Troy Sanderlin and wife Leta; grandchildren: Silas and Solomon, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services for Dr. Sanderlin were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Daulton officiating. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Visitation was held from 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
