David Jackson McKneely

David Jackson McKneely, 75, was born on November 28, 1946 to E. Leighton McKneely and Lucile Jackson McKneely in Minden.

He died on April 14 at his home in Shreveport. He grew up in Ruston, was an RHS graduate, but resided most of his life in Shreveport. David’s first career path began as a skilled tool and die craftsman with Western Electric producing precision metal parts, instruments, and tools.

During his 30-year career the company became AT&T and David’s skill and expertise grew, driven by the computerized method of the Cad wire EDM.

On retirement he utilized his expertise, experience, and new cutting-edge technology and opened his own entrepreneurial business, Cad Wire-EDM, Inc. He spent 15 more years in this private business.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie Veasey McKneely; one daughter, Allison McKneely, and two granddaughters, Nadia and Layla Foshee, all of Shreveport; one brother, Ronald Keith McKneely of Ruston; and two sisters, June Morgan (husband, Derald) of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Rebecca Hogg (husband, Bill) of Ruston; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held April 28, at 10 a.m., at Rose-Neath South, in Shreveport. Further arrangements are pending.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
