Daphne June (Smithee) Harrington

Daphne June (Smithee) Harrington, age 80, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully into heaven on January 20, 2022. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on January 28, 1941, and attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa.

She married her soulmate, Charles Prentice Harrington, on December 24, 1957.

Daphne was a former model and Regional Dodge Girl in a six-state region surrounding Oklahoma. Daphne and Charles resided in Ruston for 23 years where she taught Charm School, authored daily devotionals for Daily Wisdom, and worked as a secretary at Louisiana Tech University.

After retirement, Daphne and Charles lived in Bella Vista, Arkansas, for about 15 years where she served with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s internet evangelism ministry Search for Jesus (PeaceWithGod.net).

Daphne is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Vona Smithee.

Daphne is survived by her husband Charles Harrington; son, Sean Harrington; daughter, Paige Harrington Moore (husband David); daughter, Christelle Harrington; six grandchildren; five siblings, Dr. Helen Inbody Canada, Barbara Joslin, Betty Ross (husband Ron), Jack Smithee, Johnny Smithee; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at The Place Church, 302 N. Madison Avenue in Blanchard, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daphne’s name to The Place Church.
