Luna Bennett (09-18-2009)
Westlake- Luna Bennett, 99, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009, in a local care center.

She was a native of Alabama and lived most of her life in the Corinth Community, out from Hico, Louisiana. She later moved to Dubach, Louisiana and then to the Sulphur/Westlake area where she has resided for the last 13 years. Her funeral will be held at Corinth Baptist Church where she had been a member most of her life. The service will be at 2 p.m.

Sunday, September 20, with the burial at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Dewayne Ramsey will officiate.

Survivors are her nieces, Betty Burgess of Westlake, Jenny Hatton of Tyler, Texas, Virginia Sullivan of Dubach, and Nellie Carver of Dubach; her nephew, Loy Gaar of Garsmill; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie "Bill" Bennett; her parents, Joe and Fannie Land Hall; seven sisters, Vera Wood, Mary Maxson, Marie Stafford, Eva Gaar, Pearl Dailey, Dora Fowler, and Irma Burgess; and one brother, Glenn Hall.
