Drew Bridges (09-08-2009)
Funeral services will be held for Drew Bridges, 89, at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, September 7th, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Arcadia. Rev. Jayne Trammell- Kelly and Rev. Robert Peyton will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. The interment will follow at the Mt. Mariah cemetery. Mr. Bridges was born March 27, 1920, in Claiborne Parish, to Emmett Bridges and Odessa Methvin Bridges. He entered into rest on September 3, 2009, in Shreveport, LA. Mr. Bridges was a member of the Mt. Mariah Methodist church.

Mr. Bridges served in the Army during World War II, he also was a member of the local VFW. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Bridges is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine Moore Bridges, a son Tommy Gerald Bridges, and by sisters Rose Marie Averett and Georgia Emmett Harmon.

He is survived by his daughter Renie’ A. Conrad and husband Douglas G. Conrad, niece JoAnn Geary Trammell and husband Rodney, nephews Ted J. Harmon and Emmett Averett and wife Lynn, great nephews David Christopher Geary and wife Kelly, Bryan Patrick Geary and Sheila, Stacey Averett and Jonathan, grand nephews and nieces Whitney Lauren Geary, Shelby Ann Geary, and Brayden Patrick Geary and numerous cousins, friends and family of his deceased wife. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Nelson, Tony Powell, Bryan Patrick Geary, Scott Bridges, Clay Bond and Paul Cook.

The honorary Pallbearers will be J.A. Bridges and Ted Harmon. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Mariah Cemetery Fund, 275 Mask Rd. Athens, LA. 71003 or to the Ruston’s Methodist Children’s Home, PO Box 929, Ruston, LA 71273.
