Willie Elwin Lyles Jr (09-03-2009)
Photo of Willie Elwin Lyles JrWillie Elwin Lyles Jr. passed away Monday September 1, 2009 at the Cornerstone Hospice Tuscany House in Summerfield, Florida after an extended illness. Mr. Lyles or “Junior” to his friends was a life long resident of Ruston, Louisiana and was retired from the city of Ruston where he served as a Fire Fighter. 

He brought his strong work ethic and his love of people to  his next career at the Scotty’s Do It Yourself Center where he worked right up until his illness.  He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Millie; his son Claude Phillip Lyles (Lindy) of Ruston; his daughter Gayle Townsend (Troy) of Summerfield, FL; sisters Doris Baggerly and Helen Davidson; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends Friday, September 4, 2009 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 209 North Street, Ruston, LA from 5:00 till 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Byargeon from Temple Baptist Church officiating.

Mark Richards, Jay Freeman, James Davison, Ronnie Rodrigues, Larry Rainwater, and Walter Moss will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Clayton McKaskle and John C. Colvin.  Interment will be at Vienna Cemetery immediately following the service at Vienna Cemetery.   

Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston has been entrusted with all arrangements.
