Jon Eric McCrary (08-31-2009)
Jon Eric McCrary, 50, of Mittie, LA died Thursday, August 27, 2009 in a local hospital. Mr. McCrary was born, raised and educated in Lake Charles and has lived the past ten years in Mittie. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School, Louisiana Tech University and McNeese State University. He attained a Bachelor Degree in Zoology and Science Education and a Masters Degree in Environmental Science. Mr. McCrary was employed with Providence Engineering and was a member of National Environmental Health Association. He enjoyed living the agrarian life, and he brought much laughter and joy to those around him. Mr. McCrary was an elder of Bethel Presbyterian Church where he will be most remembered his love and devotion to the covenant family. He loved God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 25 years, Donna Pierce McCrary of Mittie; eight children, Esther Condit and husband Doug of Lake Charles, Abigail Aberle and husband Chris of Moscow, ID, Grace , Kathryn, Rachel, Darcie- Anne, Patrick and Elizabeth McCrary, all of Mittie; one grandchild, Phin Condit of Lake Charles; one sister, Deborah Carter of Katy, TX; father- in- law and mother- in- law, Volney and Betty Pierce of Ruston; Covenant family and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Tommye McCrary and three infant children.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, August 31, 2009 in Bethel Presbyterian Church. Reverend Steven Wright will officiate. Burial will be in McCrary Family Cemetery in Mittie, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Visitation Sunday will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the funeral home. Visitation Monday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the church. Words of comfort to the family may be expressed at www.johnsonfuneralhome.net.
