Eddie Thomas (08-24-2009)
Funeral services for Eddie Thomas, 52, of Choudrant, LA will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, LA with Dr. Michael Hawley and Rev. Bill Sanderson officiating the service. Interment will follow in Choudrant Memorial Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Eddie was born February 17, 1957 in Crossett, AR and died August 22, 2009 in Ruston, LA.
He was an active member and deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Eddie thoroughly enjoyed teaching and coaching at Choudrant High School and was the founder of Choudrant High School Tennis Team.
Eddie is preceded in death by his dad, Jurd Lee Thomas and his mother-in-law, Noma Baskin. He is survived by his wife. Angel Thomas; four sons, Jurdon, McClain, Blake, and Isaac Thomas all of Choudrant, LA; mother, Juretta Thomas of Huttig, AR; brother, Stan Thomas and wife Terri of Huttig, AR; sister, LeaAnn Blackwood and husband Bob of El Dorado, AR; father-in-law, Tommy Baskin of Downsville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church or Choudrant High School Tennis Team.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Snyder, Tony Squyres, Gary Barr, Shane Batterton, Keith Odom, and Scotty Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be his tennis buddies and deacons of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
