Dewey Lane Simonton (08-14-2009)
A memorial service celebrating the life of Dewey Lane Simonton, 63, will be held Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. Dewey was born December 27, 1945 in Lincoln Parish and passed away on August 9, 2009 as a result of a stroke.Dewey served in the Navy for two years before attending LA Tech University where he earned a BS degree in accounting. He was a practicing CPA until his retirement five years ago due to Multiple Systems Atrophy. Dewey will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor as well as his professionalism to his clients. He was an avid Saints and LSU fan. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 22 years, Judy Loe Simonton; sons Jonathan and Christopher Simonton; sisters Sallie Johnston and Neita Brumley; brothers Richard Simonton and Sammie Simonton and his wife Carol; numerous nieces, nephews; and many special friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the people who provided such excellent care for Dewey during his illness; Mrs. Annie Cason, Mr. Danny Garza and Mr. Mike Eads, you are truly angels on earth.
