Clyde Howell Orr (08-02-2009)
Clyde Howell Orr, 86, of Johnson City, passed away on July 31, 2009, at her residence. Born in Cleveland, MS, she was the daughter of the late John and Rosa Beauchamp Howell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Frank and B
Bernard; and four sisters, Vivian, Elizabeth, Mary Myrtle and Jean.
Known as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her family was most important to her. She was a lifelong Methodist, and was involved in numerous church activities including committee memberships and the teaching of Sunday school. She devoted her life to the quiet service of family, friends, and the communities where she lived.
She is survived by her husband L. E. (Ed) Orr; daughter, Jan Orr Luff and husband David W. Luff of Blountville, TN; son, Terry L. Orr and wife Kathleen E. Orr of Lufkin, TX; sister, Rosalyn McDuffie and husband Dean McDuffie of West Monroe, LA; brother, Charles Howell and wife Imozell Howell of Statesville, NC; grandchildren, Amy and Mike Koehn of Lilburn, GA; Jeremy and Cathy Orr of Okinawa; Brian and Jessica Luff of Johnson City; and Matt Luff of Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren, Sydney Luff, Bo Luff, and Ryan Luff, all of Johnson City; Benjamin, Anna Grace and Amelia Koehn, all of Lilburn, GA; Delaney and Griffin Orr of Okinawa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice whose nurses and staff provided excellent care and family support. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at The Range, 2833 E. Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, TN.
