Delta CC demolished

Ruston’s Louisiana Delta Community College location was recently torn down on James Street. A new $7 million facility will be built in the same location.

In 2018, Louisiana Delta Community College was scheduled to get a new multimillion-dollar Ruston campus that was to anchor a city-developed technology park. The deal evidently fell apart over getting access to landlocked acreage donated to Delta by former Ruston resident Judy Morgan Darby.

College officials realized they could start — and finish — a new facility more quickly and cheaply by reusing the James Street site.

The Ruston campus serves approximately 238 students annually.
