Daniel Wayne Davis, beloved son, brother, uncle, musician, and friend passed away at the age of 67 in his home in Lafayette, Louisiana, on March 24, 2024.
The North Central Louisiana Arts Council recently hosted its annual meeting at Ruston’s Historic Fire Station. NCLAC President Gary Faulkner presided over the event which included an overview of the year’s programming from Director Marcie Nelson as well as the presentation of the following awards: Artist of the Year – Marcus Roach, Patron of the Year – Christiane Drieling and Emily Ezell – Board Member of the Year. Members enjoyed delicious refreshments as part of the fellowship celebrating a tremendously successful year.
The Birthday Fellowship Club, founded 20 years ago by Joseph Capers of Grambling, recently held its annual fan drive. The collection was then donated to Christian Community Action for the summer. Last week, amid nationwide student protesting that threatened Jewish students and effectively shut down college campuses, 27 Republican senators sent Attorney General Merrick Garland and Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona a letter urging them to restore order and shut down the antisemitic, pro-Palestine mobs.
