Approximately 86 local businesses will partner with 20 Lincoln Parish schools to help with community outreach programs through the 2016-17 school year. The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln Parish ACHIEVE collaboration celebrated the programs ninth year with a kick-off event and luncheon Tuesday at the Ruston Civic Center. Melanie Colvin, Lincoln Preparatory School assistant director, said the program helps in a number of ways including helping fund several scheduled events at the school such as teacher appreciation day, incentive activities and parent-teacher conferences. “We...
