Prevent Blindness America declared June as National Cataract Awareness Month in an attempt to educate the public on most eye diseases.
While most cataracts are related to aging, there are four different types of cataracts a person can be diagnosed with.
• Secondary cataract. Cataracts can form after surgery for other eye problems, such as glaucoma. Cataracts also can develop in people who have other health problems, such as diabetes. Cataracts are sometimes linked to steroid use.
• Traumatic cataract. Cataracts can develop after an eye injury, sometimes years later.
In 1802, Napoleon Bonaparte established the National Order of the Legion of Honor in France in the aftermath of the French Revolution to recognize members of the military for their service to their country.
In fact, it is the most prestigious decoration in France.
In 2004, in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Normandy landings, the French government began giving the medal to World War II veterans as a way to pay tribute to them for their participation during the war.
