With the new system, all Lincoln Parish high school students will take seven 55-minute courses, adding about 25 minutes to the school day. This means less time for video games, sports and dates after school.

But as Ruston High School principal Kenny Henderson has pointed out, the new system might better serve young people’s attention spans. RHS freshmen and Dubach High students are currently on the Modified Block schedule, which uses a combination of 90-95 minute and hour-long classes.
