With six seniors on this year’s roster, Louisiana Tech University head softball coach Mark Montgomery knew it was imperative that he find some quality replacements for this year’s class.
The first year head coach did just that, as he recently signed five high school prep stars to national letters-of-intent during the early period, as Tech inked Tori Charters (Keller, Texas/Keller HS), Amanda Gray (Allen, Texas/Lovejoy High), Taylor Penn (Forney, Texas/Forney High), Pauline Tufi (Anchorage, Alaska/West Anchorage High), and Kaitlyn Williams (Glendale, Calif./Herbert Hoover High).
It wouldn’t be misleading to say the New Orleans Saints have had a frustrating season.
But honestly, considering the draft issues the team has faced in recent years and the team obviously in a rebuilding phase, how many Who Dats really expected the team to come and contend this year? Most Saints fans were barely hopeful for a playoff appearance, and that was because of the perceived weakness of the NFC South and before “Super Cam” Newton and the Panthers turned things up two notches following last year’s success.
For the past several weeks, I have been chasing birds. I brought two of them home with me; beards and spurs are drying on the shelf and meat is in the freezer.
I’m a turkey hunter and this is the time of year I look forward to more than any other time. Louisiana’s season ended this past weekend and although it would be fun to chase another gobbler or two, I’m content with what the season afforded me.
