Tech continually improving
You survived a loss of funding. During fall break, the first 3.5 percent budget cut suddenly increased to 5 percent. Faculty feared for their jobs, students feared for their education and higher tuition rates. Tech president Dan Reneau assured students, “Our job at Louisiana Tech is to provide for students and to provide a high quality of education, and that is what I am committed to.”
Vice president of academic affairs Kenneth Rea also stated, “First and foremost, we must protect the classroom.” Throughout it all, the students remained top priority.
