Moats shines in place of Westbrook

In nine of the team’s first 10 games, the former Louisiana Tech University running back was on the inactive roster.

But when starter Brian Westbrook was recently injured (sprained right foot) and sidelined for the rest of the schedule, the call went out to veterans Reno Mahe and Lamar Gordon and rookie Moats.

Moats, who was a two-time rushing champ in his final two years at Tech, responded with a super performance during a 26-23 loss to the New York Giants last weekend.

He stole the show, in fact, for the Eagles’ offense, albeit in a losing effort.
