MONTHLY TOWN HALL MEETING MINUTES
MONDAY, DECEMBER 6TH, 2010
The Village of Simsboro met in regular session Monday, December 6th at 6:00 PM. Council members present were Alderman Al Madden, Alderman Doug Durrett, and Alderman Pam Durrett. Mayor Hendricks called the meeting to order. Alderman Pam Durrett led in the pledge of allegiance and Mrs. Thelma Williams voiced a prayer. The agenda was presented to the Aldermen. A motion was made by Alderman Al Madden seconded by Alderman Pam Durrett to accept the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Kim Sanders, assistant clerk read the minutes of the November 1st, 2010 meeting. A motion was made by Alderman Doug Durrett and seconded by Alderman Pam Durrett to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried. Mayor Hendricks requested a motion to accept payment of the bills as presented. A motion was made by Alderman Al Madden, seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett to accept payment of the bills. Motion carried. Chief Billy Foster recommended Mr. Woody Christian to be Simsboro’s part-time police deputy. A motion was made by Alderman Doug Durrett and seconded by Alderman Pam Durrett to accept Chief Foster’s recommendation. Motion Carried. Mr. Woody Christian is Simsboro’s part-time police deputy. Shelby Kelley presented the water and sewer report. Everything is running fine. We now have location points for cutoff valves. Mayor Hendricks presented Alderman Al Madden with an appreciation plaque for his four years of dedicated service to the Village of Simsboro. Alderman Madden stated that even though he and the Mayor have not agreed on everything, Mayor Hendricks has always set the Village of Simsboro and the Citizens, first. He stated that Pam, Doug, and he helped where they could, however; Simsboro is in better shape because we have a good man leading the team. Alderman Madden encouraged citizens to attend town hall meetings. He thanked Shelby Kelley for his excellent work with our water/sewer system, Doug Brewer for accounting services, and the clerical staff for their work. There was no Planning & Zoning report- there were no new permits. CPA, Doug Brewer, has completed our Louisiana Compliance Questionnaire and stated that he is currently working on financial statements. Mayor Hendricks read the Louisiana Compliance Questionnaire. A motion was made by Alderman Al Madden and seconded by Alderman Pam Durrett to approve the questionnaire. Motion Carried. There were no Public Comments. Meeting Adjourned-6:35 p.m.
