Leader photo by O.K. DAVIS Whenever Ruston High School’s Ja’Ren Johnson carried the football during the 2010 season, it usually meant good things. The senior had nearly 1,500 yards on the ground and turned in one of the state’s top single-game performances with 322 yards against Monroe Wossman High.

When a running back reaches 1,000 yards on the ground for a season, well, that should pretty much wrap up postseason accolades of some type.

Figure on Ja’Ren Johnson and Austin Ginn experiencing such honors in upcoming weeks when a variety of after-the-season teams will be announced.

Ruston High’s Johnson and Cedar Creek’s Ginn are among the leading candidates to represent Lincoln Parish for such honors after being among the top rushers for their districts and classifications.
