A truck turns off of Vienna Street onto Georgia Avenue. The DOTD is funding a project to add a turning lane to a stretch of Vienna and widen a portion of Georgia to enhance safety at the intersection.

The city has spent $130,000 to purchase an estimated 1/3 of an acre of property from Randy Ewing at the corner of Vienna Street and Georgia Avenue. City Administrator Lewis Love said the state Department of Transportation and Development is kicking in an estimated $250,000 in funding to add a turning lane to Vienna and widen a section of Georgia Avenue to make the curb encompass a larger radius.
