Emily Katherine Wakeley, of Shreveport, and Brooks Gerard Johnson, of Grand Junction, Colo., were married at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans in Shreveport. The nuptial Mass was officiated by Monsignor J. Carson LaCaze.

Emily is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Wakeley of Kingwood, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Deshotel of Elton, Irving Jacobs of Noble, Ella V. Wakeley and the late Harry Wakeley of Kinder.

Brooks is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson Jr. of Quitman. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Arieux of Pearl River and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson Sr.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a vintage lace gown by Jasmine Haute Couture. The sweetheart embellished neckline was created in re-embroidered French Alencon lace. The tulle A-line skirt was accented with French lace embroidery and clusters of seed beads. The skirt was edged with a scalloped lace hem that extended into a Tiffany train. The bride wore a crystal tiara and double-layered veil edged in Swarovski crystals. Her bouquet of circus roses, red dahlias and chocolate cosmos was wrapped with her maternal great-grandmother’s handkerchief and a rosary from her paternal grandfather.

Erin Elizabeth Wakeley of Kingwood, Texas, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristin Pachankis Cordaro of Shreveport and Maria Tess Hiles of Longview, Texas.

The bridesmaids wore brown chiffon dresses with ruched, sweetheart cut, strapless bodices. They carried bouquets of circus roses.

Blake Andrew Nolan of Ruston served as best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Ji-Kuo Chang of Houston and Daniel Ian Berman of Houston.

Ushers were Nicholas Kent Wakeley of West Monroe and Andrew Luke Wakeley of Natchitoches.

Katherine Elizabeth Van Hook of Shreveport was the flower girl and Connor Adam Johnson of Quitman was the ring bearer.

Alistair Johnson Douce of Washington, D.C., and Frank Ernest Johnson, III of Quitman were the Scripture readers.

Gift bearers were Laure Wakeley Smith of Kinder and Margaret Arieux Inabinet of Kiln, Miss.
Justin Ward, organist; Candace Taylor, vocalist; Mike Scarlato, trumpeter; Mary Eileen Grant, violinist; and Zachary Grant, violinist and violist, provided music.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Randle T. Moore Center.

A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held on Nov. 5 at Ernest Orleans Restaurant.

Following a honeymoon to Rome, the couple will reside in Grand Junction, Colo.
