Guillot and Michael marry in ceremony
Kristen Ann Guillot of Ruston and William Wasson Michael of Homer were married at 6 p.m. Oct. 23 at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Andy Hurst and uncle of the groom Jimmy Hand officiated the ceremony.
Kristen is the daughter of Jay and Susan Guillot. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sanders of Ruston, Emily Guillot of Ruston and the late Earl Guillot.
Will is the son of Joe Ellis and Venetia Michael of Homer. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Michael of Homer, Carolyn Thurmon of Homer and the late Charlie Thurmon.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory couture taffeta gown by Maggie Sottero. The sweetheart cut A-line silhouette was asymmetrically rouched, and the corseted bodice was accented by a cluster of Swarovski crystals, glass beads and seed pearls at the Basque waist, cascading into a Tiffany train. The double layer fingertip veil was edged in silver beads and seed pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of vendella and Tibet roses, grevelia, green hypericum berries and seeded eucalyptus.
Katie Guillot of Longview, Texas, and Maggie Guillot of Lubbock, Texas, sisters of the bride, served as the maids of honor. Bridesmaids were sister of the groom Carrie Bubenzer of Shreveport; Briley Cotton of Bossier City; Holly Foster of Nashville, Tenn.; Megan Hayes of Shreveport; Lindsey Graham of Ruston; Brooks McDonald of Nashville, Tenn.; and Casey Preaus of Rogers, Ark.
The bridesmaids wore celadon, one-shoulder, Tiffany chiffon gowns. They carried gathered bouquets of vendella roses, bronze hypericum berries and seeded eucalyptus.
Joe Ellis Michel of Homer served as best man. Groomsmen were Matt Procell of Homer; Jerrod Phillips of Nashville, Tenn.; Ross Crump of Louisville, Ky.; Chris Ebarb of Minden; Ben Winter of Ruston; Christian Bubenzer of Shreveport; and Philip Prince of Irving, Texas.
The scripture reader was Maggie Guillot of Lubbock, Texas.
Guest book attendants were Emily Pullin of Ruston and Joanna Dugdale of Ruston.
The Groove Agents provided music. Caren Craft of Nora’s Flowers provided the flowers.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held on the lawn at Squire Creek Country Club.
The bride and groom give special thanks to wedding coordinator Duddy Garrett, Holly LeBlanc and Beth Lyons for their help with the reception décor.

An “eat, drink and be married” party was held Aug. 28 at the home of Gil and Melinda Dowies. Hosts were of Gil and Melinda Dowies, and George and Kathy Tigner.
A lingerie shower and bachelorette weekend hosted by the bridesmaids were held from Sept. 3-5 in Nashville, Tenn.
A bridal shower was held Sept. 18 at the T.L. James House. Hosts were Leaia Alsup, Marty Alsup, Rachel Barmore, Lisa Barr, Kim Brasher, Yvette Brooks, Lorie Carter, Sheryl Durrett, Deborah Kincannon, Lori King, Carolyn McGehee, Kim McCormack, Bethel Murphy and Kate Perot.
A bridesmaids’ luncheon was held Oct. 22 at the home of Lynda Steed. Hosts were Cindy Clark, Frances Johnson and Lynda Steed.
A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held Oct. 22 at the Historic Ruston Firehouse.
Following a honeymoon to Banff, Canada, the couple will reside in Haughton.
