School Board adopts political policy

In accordance with state law, the Lincoln Parish School Board formally adopted a policy prohibiting School Board employees and members from advocating political candidates during official duties.

The policy encourages teachers and administrators to emphasize the importance of voting, but disallows them from attempting to sway anyone’s ballot choice.

This was a response to the Oct. 5 meeting of the school board when Superintendent Danny Bell asked that a committee be formed to deal with an incident that occurred before the Ruston mayoral election on Oct. 2.
