HB 388, filed by Rep. Jim Fannin, D-Jonesboro, and Sen. Robert Kostelka, R-Monroe, seeks to remove the "critical designation" language from the Sparta Aquifer, and instead, call the depleteing source of water "an area of groundwater concern."
"The bill passed committee this morning," Parish Engineer Richard Durrett told the jury during Tuesday night's regular monthly meeting.
