It’s no secret the state of Louisiana has a black eye right now. Black as in “black gold.”

Perception is a funny thing, often misleading yet sometimes hard to overcome. That’s the situation Louisiana is facing in the wake of the British Petroleum Gulf oil spill.

And things didn’t get any better on Thursday when a second Gulf of Mexico oil rig exploded and burned.
