Community gives hope to veterans
The goal was to raise $20,000 for Patriot Paws, a Texas-based nonprofit that provides service dogs for disabled veterans.
Instead, the community rose to the occasion, opened their hearts and pocketbooks and donated $24,000 over the course of two months.
A check presentation was made to Patriot Paws founder Lori Stevens on Friday. The donation will be used to purchase service dogs wounded veterans, making a significant difference in their lives. These individuals who gave of themselves in service to our country deserve it, and the community will be appreciated for their generosity and kindness.
