Library depends on voters
Lincoln Parish residents will determine in November whether they wish to continue to fund the parish library at the current rate for the next 10 years.
Approximately 95 percent of the library’s budget is funded through property taxes.
During their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, police jurors called for a Nov. 2 election to keep the millage to support the library at 5.99 mills.
“This is not an increase (in property taxes), so people need to vote for it,” Juror Joe Henderson said. “It’s no extra money out of their pockets.”
