Residents can weigh in on tax proposal

This time around, Choudrant’s Save Our Schools group is taking a different tactic — proposing a smaller tax and actively soliciting community input.

The committee’s dedication is obvious, and it’s encouraging that they are listening to feedback from residents and tailoring a new tax proposal to achieve their goal of funding school improvements at a level most people can live with.

So far, two proposals have been discussed: A 21-mill, 20-year tax and a 10-year, 3-mill property tax.
