His neighbors are concerned for his welfare and call police (probably because you can only listen to your neighbor loudly singing “Here’s a quarter, call someone who cares” so many times without going bonkers­ — no disrespect to the real Travis Tritt­ — I am a fan, after all).

The responding officer is uncertain about what type of person he’s dealing with, but he strongly suspects that “Tritt” is mentally ill. The officer treats the man with kindness and respect and even goes along with the man’s delusions, but only to a point.
