Q: How important is parental involvement and what are ways a parent can be involved in a child’s education? What are indications a child’s parents are not involved?

A: Moore: Kids are our future. A teacher can only do so much at school, and it’s up to parents to reinforce the lessons learned when the child gets home. Parents should want to know what’s going on with that child. I think it should be a first priority. But some parents might not come to school events because their work hours prevent it or they can’t afford day care.
