If Ruston High were to launch a New Technology High program at the school, it would be open to all students in grades 10-12.

First implemented in Napa, Calif., in 1996, the New Tech High model was designed to appeal to the 21st century learner. There are more than 40 New Tech High programs nationwide, and Ruston High Principal Mike Milstead said the digitally-centered program has been successful among students from rural areas as well as inner city kids.
