Students, faculty participate in third annual luncheon

Hundred of locals came out Tuesday to show their support for Grambling State University and for the new Distinguished Leadership Award recipients.

GSU President Frank Pogue opened the third annual luncheon by saying everyone was present to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

“Grambling State University is committed to the tenets of diversity and civility,” he said. “We are pausing to recognize Dr. King. Dr. King taught us to honor peace, humanity and kindness. He championed civility, fairness, tolerance and civic responsibility.”
