U.S. 167 bridges need to be solid

It was part of a larger problem of decking deterioration on both spans across I-20 that has been of concern to locals for several years. The DOTD was aware of the problem at least as far back as 2007, and we got work going in 2008 that helped address the issue — even if it did choke one of Ruston’s main access points over the interstate.

That only one of the bridges seems to be suffering is no consolation, because just the one bridge having issues this quickly after work is completed brings the whole project into question.
