Grambling adopts $1.7 million budget for 2005

The budget shows total revenues for the city at slightly more than $1.697 million with total expenses totaling nearly $1,302 million, leaving a surplus cushion of about $395,000.
The general fund is the largest recipient of tax revenues with about $1.377 million. The general fund includes police and fire services, streets, parks and recreation and administrative overhead.
"I'm pleased with our budget," Mayor Martha Andrus said. "We seem to be getting things in line. We've trimmed the budget somewhat from last year."
