Cypress Springs area to get park
Jefferson Land Co. Developer Dicky Nealy owns the land and had originally planned a residential development which became a point of controversy when he announced plans to construct smaller and lower priced housing than much of what already existed in the area. That plan was opposed by Alderman Marie Riggs and a group of Cypress Springs residents who organized to fight the proposal.
The current appraisal for the property came in at about $112,000; however, Nealy said he would offer it to the city at just below $104,000.
