Dean’s mother: A rock of support
She was a tower of strength and a beacon of inspiration for her son, regarded among the best pass rushers in National Football League history and a living legend among RHS and Louisiana Tech University fans who followed his career before an 11-year stay in the pro ranks.
When asked recently who was the most influential person in his career, Dean didn’t hesitate.
“I’d have to say that was my mother as far as influential because, number one, she didn’t want me to play the game at first. It went against her better judgement. Then she became my biggest fan.”
