Protect your family from house fires

A working smoke detector could have protected the family involved in Monday’s fire. The house had a detector, but it wasn’t working correctly.

In light of what happened, the Ruston Fire Department is working on a community outreach program to get smoke detectors into the hands of those who don’t have one.
The fire department has also offered to help any resident who has a question about detectors. Just call 255-4762 to reach a firefighter who can help.
