At the Lincoln Parish School Board meeting Tuesday, three recommendations were put on the table: Seeking voter approval of a lower property tax, considering a sales tax and looking into the possibility of implementing a parcel fee.

No matter which funding method is ultimately chosen, all the money brought in would pay for renovations and maintenance and operation costs at the schools.

Because of the failure of the property taxes, Choudrant schools have not had a dedicated source of funding for maintenance and operation nor for upgrades.
