With approximately 370 schools eligible to be considered for the award, Gullikson said it was impressive that two of the eight schools garnering the achievement were in the same parish.

Simsboro High School had a composite score of 19.5 in 2007 with 31 students tackling the exam. The average ACT composite score at Choudrant High was 19.7 in 2007, with 47 students taking the exam, compared with only 30 in 2006.
