Local artist draws a positive image

McLeroy’s students turned to him and said, “Coach, somebody ought to do something. Somebody ought to create a cartoon character that would be positive, that kids can look up to.”

So, that’s what McLeroy did. He created Lil’ Daddy’s Filosophies from Da Hood, a one-panel cartoon that features a 12-year-old black child named Lil’ Daddy and a positive message that spans generations and races.

“Lil’ Daddy is so positive,” he said, “and he can impact not just a child’s life, but anybody’s life, more than any other drawing could ever do.”
