Fishing tournament to be held

The North Central Louisiana division of the Fishers of Men have announced that registration is opened for the North Central Louisiana Fishers of Men second annual Big Bass Open to be held Saturday, March 30 on Lake D’Arbonne.

Anglers will have an opportunity to win a share of over $10,000 in prizes, including the $3,000 big bass payout. Each hour of the tournament, $500 will be awarded for first place, $250 for second place and $150 for third place and anglers can follow the hourly weigh-ins throughout the tournament day with the live broadcast by Z-107.5. In addition, a $500 Youth Big Bass Challenge will be awarded to the largest bass of the day caught by an angler 16 years of age or younger at the time of the tournament.

The event will include a Family Fun Night on March 29 where tournament anglers and their families will have the opportunity to hear nationally-renowned comedian Brad Stine of Nashville. Stine has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today and has appeared on numerous networks including CNN, Fox News, ABC and NBC. The Family Fun Night will also include a fish fry, jumpies and games for kids and live entertainment by the Bayou Crossing Band.

The tournament entry fee is $100 per person and no Fishers of Men membership is required to participate. The second Annual Big Bass Open is sponsored by Community Trust Bank, Ludwig Brothers Marine, Crawford Financial, James Davis Construction and Ruston Brick.
